Change Microsoft Office default save location (Instead of OneDrive)

By default, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) will save files to Microsoft OneDrive. This is fine if you use OneDrive, but many of us don’t. We use Google Drive at my day job, you may use Dropbox or iCloud. Lets change Microsoft Office default save location so we can save our documents to somewhere that is not OneDrive.

Why OneDrive

OneDrive is Microsoft’s version of Dropbox / Google Drive. As you require a Microsoft account for Windows to work you will automatically have a OneDrive account. Microsoft Office will save to OneDrive by default, this is fine as you will get a unofficial backup.

There are many online cloud solutions, or you may just want to save Microsoft Office documents to your local computer (remember to keep a backup). Whatever your method, we have a recipe for you.

By changing this setting in one Microsoft Office application, we will affect all Microsoft Office applications.
